Giving Back to Teton Valley

Dear Readers,

COVID-19 is hitting many of us very hard right now no matter where you are in the world. It’s an uncertain time for many of us with things changing rapidly. While Idaho has been hit relatively lightly compared to many places in the world, our local economy has been severely impacted in order to slow down the spread of the virus in our community.

On March 15, 2020, Grand Targhee Ski Resort and Jackson Hole Resort made the difficult decision to close for the reminder of the ski season to slow down community spread of COVID-19 in Teton Valley and Jackson Hole. Restaurants, bars and hotels have followed suit. This has laid off large amounts of people for an undetermined length of time.

Several organizations had stepped up to help people laid off: Teton Valley Food Pantry, Family Safety Network and Seniors West of the Tetons. These organizations resources are stretched thin to support the surge in need.

To help them out, all proceeds from sales of my knitting patterns will be donated to these three organizations. As of today, I have three patterns available for purchase in my Ravelry Store:

The Heatwave Socks shown in Teton Knitting Company Mountain Sock in Sunflower. Yes, this is the same pattern that raised funds for the Australian Red Cross for Bush Fire Relief. An easy to follow pattern with clever use of decreases and increases to create mock cables.

Next, up is the Black Diamond Socks knitted in Teton Knitting Mountain Sock shown in Obsidian. Cables are combined with textured stitches of knit and purl to create a fun but spicer sock for the more adventurous knitter who wants to take their sock knitting to another level.

The latest member of the Teton Knitting family is the Hidden Falls Fingerless Mitts knitted out Season DK. These fingerless mitts are a quick knit that is a great project for the new cable knitter. Shown in Teton Knitting Company Seasons DK in Midnight Velvet, a soft, springy 100% Superwash Merino 4-ply.

Thank you for your support is these difficult times. I greatly appreciate all the messages, purchases from the Etsy Store, likes on Instagram and take time to read blog posts.
